Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Photojenec, a local-first tool for laying out and printing ID and passport photos. By using Photojenec, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Photojenec helps you crop photos, arrange them on paper templates, preview layouts, export PDFs, and print from your browser. Processing happens on your device. Features may change, and we may update or discontinue parts of the service at any time.

You agree to use Photojenec only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use the app to infringe others’ rights, including copyright or privacy rights in photographs
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer for abuse, or compromise the hosting or delivery of the app
• Misrepresent Photojenec output as an official government endorsement or certified ID document by itself
• Interfere with ads, click ads fraudulently, or use automated means to generate ad impressions or clicks

You retain rights to photos and templates you create. You are solely responsible for obtaining any needed consent to use images, and for verifying that printed sizes, backgrounds, and crops meet the requirements of the issuing authority (passport office, embassy, licensing bureau, etc.).

Photojenec provides layout tools and common size presets. It does not guarantee acceptance of any printed photo by a government or third party.

Photojenec may display third-party advertisements, including ads served by Google AdSense. Ads help support hosting and development of the free service. Advertising partners may set cookies or similar technologies when you allow Marketing cookies; details are in the Privacy Policy.

We do not control the content of every ad. Ads are not endorsements. Clicking an ad may take you to a third-party site with its own terms and privacy practices. Do not rely on ads for ID photo rules or legal advice.

Templates and project data may be stored in your browser (for example, IndexedDB). You are responsible for backing up important templates (export) and for any loss if you clear browser data, switch devices, or use private browsing.

Photojenec is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that layouts will match every jurisdiction’s photo rules. We do not warrant the availability, accuracy, or suitability of any advertisements.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Photojenec and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of the app—including rejected ID photos, reprint costs, travel delays, or interactions with third-party ads or advertisers.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the prior 12 months, or (b) zero if the service is provided free of charge.

The Photojenec name, branding, UI, and software are owned by their respective owners. These Terms do not grant you rights to copy, redistribute, or rebrand the app except as allowed by an applicable open-source license if one is published with the project.

Our practices for device-local data, cookies, hosting logs, and advertising partners (including Google AdSense) are described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

We may revise these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the Photojenec operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction have exclusive venue for disputes, except where consumer protection law requires otherwise.
